One of the biggest challenge faced by schools in the rural area is that during “that time of the month”, most girls miss going to School. This is on an average of 5 days a month.
Arise Kenya team has been working over 3 years to ensure 150 girls remain in School. The team is also working closely with the Community Health Workers to teach about menstruation and to train the girls on basic hygiene during their menstruation. The health workers also help to create awareness and promote education that dispels myths & taboos about menstruation.
We are very thankful to all our partners for their support towards our girls. It starts with you.
